About Anna Gambaro


Anna has been working for UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre as a research consultant at the Child Protection Unit. She has been involved mainly in research projects on Child Trafficking, Child Migration (unaccompanied minors) and Child Friendly Cities (local governance and child participation).

During the years at UNICEF she sharpened her analytical and documentation skills as well as her capacities for working in international and multidisciplinary environment.  She had field experience  in the Balkans, in a post-conflict area which included Kosovo, Serbia and Republic of Macedonia.  

She worked for two Italian NGO’s focused on child protection for children affected by war, belonging to ethnic minorities, IDP’S families, victims of social exclusion and poverty. In particular she has been involved in projects supported and funded by UNHCR for conflict-induced IDP’s, ensuring shelter, access to health services, informal education, social inclusion. She is deepening her knowledge on child consumerism and she is doing research and advocacy as well as running projects with NGO's and consumer's associations promoting the rights of the child as a consumer.

Anna has a pleasant personality. She possesses skills such as flexibility and adaptation to different and multicultural environment, and major technical skills connected to project proposal, project writing and project managing. Anna has a very good analytical and documentation skills as well theoretical and practical background in development and conflict related issues with a particular interest in children.
